I don't believe when people say "I love you forever", of course they really love someone when they say this but "forever" means the day until death, how do they know what will happen next?
When Marc says he loves me forever, I don't say the same thing back because I know I may not love him forever. Maybe he really will love me forever, but after he gets older and older, he'll meet more and more people, and then I'm not that important and he won't love me as the moment he says "forever".
My friends and I never talk about "forever". No matter how well we get along, we don't talk about "forever". We know we won't be friends forever, even we've been through a lot, we have chance to break up.
The point is, no matter what will happen next, just enjoy the moment right now. Never forever, just this second.
